Pre-Calculus
Pre-Calculus is designed to provide students with instruction on concepts that are not traditionally covered in the Integrated Math curriculum, but that are important skills to be successful in a Calculus class. At the end of the year students are introduced to the concepts of derivatives and integrals, which are traditionally covered in depth in Calculus classes, but for a majority of the year students cover concepts in the field of Advanced Algebra.
The first half of the year covers linear relations and functions, matrices, analyzing graphs in various ways, and polynomial and radical functions.
The second half of the year covers laws of sine and cosine, extensions of trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, and properties of logarithms.
