English III

The purpose of this course is to provide English 3 students opportunities to engage in learning, using texts of appropriate complexity, integrating language arts study in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language for college and career preparation and readiness. English III will provide students with the critical-thinking skills and the ability to closely and attentively read texts in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature. Students will learn to use cogent reasoning and evidence collection skills that are essential for success in college, career, and life.
